For allyuh who couldn’t make it down to Trinidad & Tobago for Carnival 2019, we’ve got you covered. Nothing is better than physically being in Trinidad for all the chippin and peltin waist, but hopefully this comes close.
J’Ouvert
Marked as the official start to Trinidad Carnival, J’Ourvet is paint, powder, and pure bacchanal. People gathered as early as 4:00 AM to kick off the carnival celebration.
Carnival Monday
Some of this year’s Monday Wear designers included Melissa Simon-Hartman, R Babb Designs, Carnival Rogue, Vanisha Lovena Somauroo and @Shan Yvo Designs.
Carnival Tuesday
Some of the standouts of this year’s mas bands included Carnival Rogue, YumaVibe, Fantasy Carnival, Tribe Carnival and The Lost Tribe, which won Large Band of the Year. Themes ranged from Taj to Bacchanal and masqueraders seemed to enjoy it all!
